Bleed by Ed Kurtz

Walt moves into his first home out in the countryside as he starts a new job and makes plans for him and his girlfriend of three years. When he first moves in there is a small rust coloured stain on the hallway ceiling. It gets bigger every time he and Amanda, the girlfriend, try to clean it, paint it. Then it starts dripping leaving pools of blood. Eventually, they realize it is alive. A very good book about the nature of evil. Lots of creep factor and unsettling descriptions. The main character isn't likable ut he feels real, It's so easy to fall under the spell of evil. Surprising and creepy ending.  4 stars
