A Bookaholic, Pro-life, Pro-Family, Pro-Oxford Comma, Catholic (with Asperger's) who reads and writes as her obsession. I've been reading over 400 books a year lately. These are my ramblings on some of the books I read. To read about all the books I read and comment on, visit me at LibraryThing or Goodreads.

I've been blogging since 2007 and at this point (July 2015) am trying my hand at turning the theme of this blog towards mystery, thriller, and crime, fiction and nonfiction. I have some special interest topics and categories within this broad genre which include (but are not limited to) serial killers, scandi-crime, Victorian history and historicals, history of the criminally insane and asylums, psychopathology, death, funerary practices and burial, corpses, true crime and anything dealing with the real life macabre, or that portrayed in fiction.

I also read a short story a day from various collections, sometimes anthologies othertimes collections of a single author's work. These reviews are also posted here and while they are of mixed genre the mystery, thriller, horror, gothic and macabre often appear within their pages as well.

I also blog about
graphic novels and manga on a separate BLOG.

Series I'm Reading

I just saw that Crazy Cozy Murders had a list of series she was reading. Then I followed the links to the others who have done this too and I was inspired to get my series all listed in one place too. This is an eclectic mix of YA fantasy, fantasy, mysteries, horror and a bit of everything else! So, here we go. This is a list of series that I have started (read at least 1 book) and want to continue reading. Series in red, I have either completed or am waiting for the next volume to be published.

This list is no longer being updated. Pleast visit my new blog Addicted to Series to see what series I am currently reading.

I've also placed an * next to the titles I own to help me not buy any more duplicates.

  1. That's quite a list, Nicola! :-)

I have read all of the Valdemar series with the exception of a couple of the short story books. It's a terrific series. I agree that it's best read in order of publication. The author actually has the timeline for the entire series on her website both by chronological order and by publishing date. I've used that as my guide over the years to make sure I don't miss any of the books.

I'm looking forward to eventually reading Kathy Reichs series. It's one I'm been meaning to get to but haven't made the time with all the other books I've been reading.

I have read a the first two books in P.D. James mystery series, and I love her writing. It's a great series, I think. Anne Rice's series is another one I'm working my way through, having read the first two books. I read the Mayfair witch books by Rice and really enjoyed them.

And like you, I'm waiting for the newest Harry Potter book to be released. I'll be jumping on that one right away. LOL

  2. Hi Nicola!

I don't have a lot of time right now to comment in detail, but I wanted to say that your list is quite impressive!

I'm not familiar with a lot of the authors, so I'll have fun looking again another time. Some of them may be fantasy writers and I don't read fantasy. I'm very much a realist, whether good or bad, it is who I am.

I'll come again when I have more time. See you later. :)

  3. Joy, yes - a lot of them are fantasy, it's my favourite genre. But there's a good mix of other stuff. I like to switch between genres so I don't get in a rut!
