The Troop by Nick Cutter

 

Amazing! I couldn't put this down. Takes place in PEI and the author is Canadian, too. A Scout troop goes to an uninhabited island each year for camp. This year as they are settling into the cabin a man runs into them screaming in hunger. He is virtually skeletonized and the scout leader, who is the town doctor, tries to help him. This really gave me the creeps at times. Great descriptions of unsettling images. I immediately went and ordered another book by the author. 5 stars
