Sunday Salon: Oct 7, 2012

What happened since last Sunday:  It's been a fairly laid back week for me and by that I mean a homebody week.  Dh has been working swing shifts and double shifts since last weekend and doesn't come off until Tuesday so I've been playing single parent and pretty much staying close to home since the routine upset doesn't do either ds or myself well due to our autistic natures.  I did go back to the surgeon for my follow-up and everything is perfect.  The meds seem to be doing the job well.  Will stay on them for a few months.  I went to Mass every morning last week; it was such a lovely Liturgical week.  We had the feast days of St. Therese (we got to kiss relics!) on Monday, Guardian Angels on Tues, St. Francis on Thursday.  Had a lovely visit with friends and the Father on Sat. evening mass.

I started my Christmas shopping this week!  I went out and bought dh's gift and then did a bunch online.  I'm going to try and do most of my Christmas shopping online this year, then I have a few special handmade gifts,  and I VOW to have it all done by the end of Nov.  I am NOT shopping in Dec.  This year I plan to fully enjoy the season of Advent.  It is my absolute favourite holiday of the year and last year I got a book that I plan to put into use to help us celebrate a fine Catholic Advent this year!

I didn't do much reading this week.  Funny you'd think being home I'd have read more but I ended up doing more housework. Bleck!  Tonight we plan on going out for our Thanksgiving dinner since I don't eat much and he is wants to relax for the few hours he's home before he's off to work again Mon. morning.
