A Bookaholic, Pro-life, Pro-Family, Pro-Oxford Comma, Catholic (with Asperger's) who reads and writes as her obsession. I've been reading over 400 books a year lately. These are my ramblings on some of the books I read. To read about all the books I read and comment on, visit me at LibraryThing or Goodreads.

I've been blogging since 2007 and at this point (July 2015) am trying my hand at turning the theme of this blog towards mystery, thriller, and crime, fiction and nonfiction. I have some special interest topics and categories within this broad genre which include (but are not limited to) serial killers, scandi-crime, Victorian history and historicals, history of the criminally insane and asylums, psychopathology, death, funerary practices and burial, corpses, true crime and anything dealing with the real life macabre, or that portrayed in fiction.

I also read a short story a day from various collections, sometimes anthologies othertimes collections of a single author's work. These reviews are also posted here and while they are of mixed genre the mystery, thriller, horror, gothic and macabre often appear within their pages as well.

I also blog about
graphic novels and manga on a separate BLOG.

Mo Hayder's Next Book

Oooooh, I'm so excited. According to Euro Crime, Hayder's next book is scheduled for release in Feb. 2010. So that means here in Canada I'll probably have to wait a few months more, but at least I know it's coming and it's going to feature Jack Caffery and Flea, yeah!

But what am I supposed to do for all of 2009! I wish she'd write faster.... sigh

  1. I have The Treatment up as a possibility for the 2nds Challenge - that starts soon. You have made it inch its way up to the strong possibility category with this excitement about her newest book release. :)

I feel so far behind in soooo many book series. I will be happy to finish my challenges, so I can concentrate on polishing off some wanna reads and rid myself of this overwhelmed feeling. :)

That's another reason why I couldn't concentrate on reading ARCs. I've only read a few and I think I have 2 coming, but to read as many as you do . . . I don't know how you do it!

  2. Yes, I'd also like to concentrate on my series next year too! I've decided not to join many challenges next year. Just a few that rather broad and would include the books I'm reading anyway.

As to the ARC's I am a little overwhelmed at the moment but I'm giong to concentrate hard on them for Sept and I should easily get the pile back down to a handful or so. If (big IF) I can get back into my usual reading patterns after this lazy August I've had.

  3. Nicola,

I just nominated you for an award on my blog.
