Just completed reading CRooked Letter......Something is bugging me about the ending though. Was there something more to the ending, or just that fact that Silas and Larry make you believe that they will build a friendship?Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11638641129213328090noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3212465766317764317.post-42218508676414622692010-11-19T11:58:10.002-05:002010-11-19T11:58:10.002-05:00I think Franklin is gifted at placing you smack da...I think Franklin is gifted at placing you smack dab in his prescribed setting. While I really enjoyed CLCL, I still am wavering on the 4.5/5 rating I gave it. I think I'm more at a 4.25/5. Anyway, I loved Hell at the Breech (5/5). Be prepared for a darker read, though.Thoughts of Joyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05572910467988997432noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3212465766317764317.post-60314402890906177092010-11-17T10:31:15.142-05:002010-11-17T10:31:15.142-05:00It's as great first sentence isn't it Myst...It's as great first sentence isn't it Mystica. You just have to keep reading after that!

Thanks Suzi! Hell at the Breech looks fabulous. My library has it so I've put it on my "save list". 2011 is going to see me back at the library more often!Nikki in Niagarahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13348586723780500367noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3212465766317764317.post-7831899495270450772010-11-16T17:44:50.495-05:002010-11-16T17:44:50.495-05:00I love it when people I like enjoy books I like!! ...I love it when people I like enjoy books I like!! So glad to see you liked this one. I loved it. Franklin has a way of blowing me away with his writing (both imagery and dialog).

I absolutely loved his first novel (Hell at the Breech). I always describe it as a very brutal story that's beautifully told. I'm not a fan of his second novel Smonk at all. I do have his short story collection (Poachers) on my shelf. I've heard good things about it and hope to read it soon.

So glad to see you liked this one.SuziQoregonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15552565982732943323noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3212465766317764317.post-82187156646258979912010-11-15T15:43:55.880-05:002010-11-15T15:43:55.880-05:00The first sentence draws you in!The first sentence draws you in!Mysticahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10941269615559681014noreply@blogger.com
